Product Development Services
Introduction
Rich-Tech RF modules provides wireless solutions for digital audio and data application with low power consumption. The RF modules are tested and market proven. Firmware and a large collection of functional modules are ready to use for the modules. Rich-Tech is committed to provide services for customer to turn their dream to a dream product and market success. As each product development will go through phases in the development cycle, our development services are designed to address the need in each phase for customer with different technical background and engineering capabilities. The following diagram outlines the development phases and the corresponding service Rich-Tech offer.
　
1. Consultancy service
Consultancy service is design for customer in the early development phase. The questions need an answer will be whether the RF module is suitable for the intended application. Rich-Tech will provide the answer by the following services:
- Selection of RF module
- Selection of software module
- Performance evaluation
　
1.1 Selection of RF module
Once customer defined of the product requirement, Rich-Tech will match the requirements with our existing RF module and make recommendation(s). The selection will be based on following:
- Power (range)
- Frequency
- RF communication technologies
- Size
- Band width (both data and voice)
- On-module resources usage and limitations
- UI and peripheral design recommendation
1.2 Selection of software modules
Rich-Tech has a large selection of software modules for the RF module. Rich-Tech will analyze the customer's requirement and make recommendation of the software modules selection. The following are some of the consideration:
- Sound qualities requirement (i.e. sampling rate, bit per sample)
- Codec
- Compression technologies
- RF technologies
1.3 Performance evaluation
Rich-Tech will provide evaluation kits to speed up the evaluation process. The evaluation kits will enable customer to have a first hand experience with the Rich-Tech RF module.
2. Product design service
Product design service is design for customer in product design phase. Rich-Tech has in-house design capacity for hardware design and software development. If customer needs mechanical design, Rich-Tech will also make recommendation and manage the design out source process.
The PERS has three main parts: base unit, pendant, and emergency respond center. RF modules are the key components for both the base unit and the pendant. The block diagram above shows the functional blocks and connections for both the base unit and the pendant.
　
2.1 Hardware design
Rich-Tech will provide two level of hardware design service: Reference design service and full service. For customer with hardware design capacity, Rich-Tech will provide reference design and recommendation of the hardware, peripheral devices and resource usages.
For full hardware service, Rich-Tech will design the hardware according to the specification. Customer will receive engineering prototype (or working samples), and full design documentations for the service.
　
2.2 Software design service
Rich-Tech firmware and software is architected into different layers. The lower layers are developed and maintained by Rich-Tech, while the upper layer is intended for product customization. For customer with software design capacity, Rich-Tech will provide the low layer software package in libraries, and interface documentation.
Rich-Tech will provide full software development service according to customer's specification.
　
2.3 Mechanical design service
Even though Rich-Tech currently has no in-house mechanical designer, we have work with mechanical engineers for product design and we will be glad to offer our recommendation. We will also work closely with any industrial and mechanical engineer selected by our customer for the perfection of the product.
3. Product manufacture matching
Pearl Delta area in south China is rapidly developed as the world manufacture center for electronic product. Being located in the vicinity of the Pearl delta area (Hong Kong), Rich-Tech has the advantages in networking with the manufacturers, understand their operation and have good relationship with them.
Rich-Tech provides reference service for customer, who is looking for manufacture for their product. We will match the product order, forecast and quality standard requirements to a qualified manufacture.
